New CPAP user and the first 2 days of data.

Post by jmfs » Sat Dec 06, 2014 4:50 pm

I have been reading the forums here for a couple of weeks. I just recieved my resmed Elite Airsense 10 and it is set to pressure setting 14. My mask does leak a bit more then I like and does wake me up from time to time. All in all it hasnt been horrible the first couple of days. the straps on the mask are tight enough to start making my neck hurt and as of last night my ears filled with pressure. I am sleeping better then without the CPAP and I am feeling better then normal, not great just better and less foggy. I have the first 2 days of data and was wondering what you guys think. As I get up in the middle of the night I sometimes turn the machine off and sometimes just leave the mask on the bed table. I dont know what i should be doing if I just leave the machine run or not.

If your mask doesn't fit unless you overtighten the straps you need to be re-fitted whether for size, mask or adjustments. Too tight can even create new leaks - sometimes a liner like Pad-a-Cheek.com can help. Don't forget the very thin silicone 'cushion' needs to inflate when the machine's on but overtightening won't let it.

It's good that you're feeling better. To get to "great" you may need to give the therapy some more time, and you also may need to better control the snores and flow limitations.

For more feedback you might want to re-post your reports with the Leak graphs showing. The graphs we commonly want to see:

Event flags
Flow Rate
Pressure (even though you're on straight pressure this graph lets us see how you're using the Ramp feature)
Flow Limit
Snore
Leak

The other graphs are either redundant or not ones we would typically focus on except under special circumstances. You can show and hide graphs by checking and unchecking them, and you can also resize them and change their order.

Keep the stats underneath the pie chart showing like you have them, just change the graphs on the right.
