I been getting average AHI readings of around 0.5 - 3.5 while the pressure rarely gets above 6.0. It seems like the CPAP doesn't have much to do. Do I really need it?
Any input would be appreciated.
thanks!

Maybe another sleep study would tell you for sure?
Or, if you have the sleepyhead software, have a look at the graphs to get a better picture of what is happening during the night instead of just looking at the average for the whole night.

What you are showing are TREATED results. Without the CPAP you would most likely be much higher or else your doctor would not have prescribed CPAP. What were the results of your sleep study?cobra888 wrote:I been getting average AHI readings of around 0.5 - 3.5 while the pressure rarely gets above 6.0. I do use sleepyhead. Again, there doesn't seem to be much happening. What graph(s) do you suggest I look at and look for on them?

My sleep study, which was about 2 years ago, showed mild apnea (AHI about 15 at worst case and when I was on my back).

Re: Wondering if CPAP necessary
Unfortunately, AHI is only an hourly average of the number of times you were not able to breathe,
not the total amount of time you spend without oxygen. One apnea, if long enough, could be your last.
