EPR on Resmed VPAP

Post by Bileveluser » Sat Dec 06, 2014 8:24 am

Does anybody know why EPR is listed as a feature on Resmed VPAP machines?
Wouldn't the VPAP function take the place of EPR with a much larger pressure range available?
Does EPR change the wave shape of flow when operated in the VPAP mode?
Or does the EPR only work when it is set in the straight CPAP mode?
Thanks.

EPR is only available on the VPAP models when in CPAP mode.
Since EPR is pretty much the same thing as the difference between EPAP and IPAP in the bilevel modes it is redundant to have it in the bilevel modes. Bilevel mode is like having unofficial EPR that is not limited to 3 cm reduction.
