new computer day

Post by Denial Dave » Sat Nov 01, 2014 6:12 pm

I'm making the move from windows XP to windows 8 with a new computer. Got any tips on how to move my sleepyhead & rescan data over to the new pc?

Thanks

winzip, 7-zip....

(I prefer 7-zip.org..)

what I'd try doing is installing SH fresh, and then unzip the data, and just import it.

alternatively, you could try running SH on the new system, finding out where it puts it's data directories, then unzip the old data in the same place.

as long as you've got the old data on the old computer, you can play with things without losing anything

Do you have a wiffle bat?
When you get frustrated, just smack something unbreakable.
You may be tempted to lay into the computer with a real bat, but try not to.
I've been there.

8.1 is reportedly much better than 8. and 10 is looking to be close to 7 goodness.
