Question about ResMed VPAP S settings

Post by Valkrist » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:34 pm

My mom has a ResMed VPAP S machine, and her doctor told her that it needs to be set on "5 / 15". I've realized that I am unable to do this for her, and she no longer qualifies to have the machine serviced, but this is only an insurance issue. The setting needs to be changed, and I know that I'm going to have to purchase some things to do this for her. She does not have the ResScan data card, so I think I might need to get one of these for her. Also, once I have the card, I think I will need a card reader depending on what kind of card it actually is, and I will also need the ResScan 3.7 software to change what's on the card. I've looked around, and I can get a card and I can get the software I think. I can't seem to find a card reader, though. Any tips anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I've been researching this for a couple of hours, and I'm still not sure I have everything right. I want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I spend money on things. Thanks much!

You do not need these things to do this (card or s/w not required to do this on this unit). there are websites where you can download the clinical manual for the device. holding down the right and down arrow keys for 5 seconds should pop up the clinical menu, you can review the settings. write them down before changing. you are looking for the IPAP and EPAP settings.

She should always be qualified to have her machine services by the DME that provided it to her. Do not let the DME tell you otherwise!
