Oximeter first night results (interpretations?)
Not sure if its the Good...Bad...or Ugly. Anyone with a clue care to explain my one day results with the Oximeter.

I also have a O2 reader, and I am told as long as you stay above 90% your good..
Your heart beat also looks good, could be a little high, mine is around 45 to 65...but I am also on Blood pressure meds...
The straight lines are artifacts and you should discount them...you cannot have such sharp and deep changes..

Re: Oximeter first night results (interpretations?)
Your SpO2 trace is hovering up there at 96% for almost all night. That's terrific.
You see occasional drops way down. Those are almost certainly times when your finger moved and can safely be ignored.
Over in the statistics, the min is 40% and reflects these artifacts of movement.
I envy your terrific 0.93 AHI
Looks like your therapy is doing nicely. Congratulations!

Re: Oximeter first night results (interpretations?)
Im on BP meds as well. Looks like my HR is between 73 - 83. My daily resting average is between 74-77. Im not really sure what the HR should be at while asleep, but I'd think it should be a percentage ? lower while sleeping.racprops wrote:I also have a O2 reader, and I am told as long as you stay above 90% your good..

Re: Oximeter first night results (interpretations?)
88% is the magical number below which doctors think about supplemental oxygen. Short times below 88% aren't a trigger but when the total time gets above 5 minutes, they pay attention.
In your case, you didn't have any time below 88% after discarding the artifact false readings.
No worries for you.

Re: Oximeter first night results (interpretations?)
Wow, you are simply amazing...
At about 3:20 not only did your heart stop beating but you also lost all oxygen from your blood. However, with great fortitude you fought back and by about 3:50 you were back...
All kidding aside, your numbers look good. You can expect variation in both pulse rates and oxygen levels and as long as you stay away from big spikes you are doing good. The exception to this is that your pulse rate will show very little variation just prior to death, according to my cardiologist.
The body works best with blood oxygen greater than 90% so the idea is to strive for an average of 95 - 97% and that way a little swing to the down side is well tolerated. It looks like you are well within that range.
