EEG sleep device for sleepers

Post by sleepy1235 » Sat Oct 04, 2014 11:32 am

I found this device online. I think it would work for sleep monitoring.

Here's another one for a more basic EEG-based wake/sleep detection:

I'd be interested in one that tracks sleep stages and body position. But the price $1500-3000?? for this one or $3000-7000 for the Advanced Brain Monitoring one appears to be geared toward professional sleep labs. ....certainly not on my meager budget. So, unless China comes out with a cheaper clone, consumers are stuck with whatever diagnostics the CPAP machine or the $50-150 Pulse Ox produces.

Another reference to an EEG device that might be useful.

Thanks JDS74,

Nice discussion. Olimex is toy store for us geeks,

And the $125 EEG-SMT + $40 in cables +shipping is in the right price range, but requires potent geek level DIY skills

Sounds like a better path than ResMed's yet to be released 'no-contact' CSIRO sleep monitor - see below - however it's too early to tell which of these new devices will be the breakout technology. Indeed, it remains to be seen if any of them aspire to those heights. BTW, I thought Zeo was onto a good thing but they went belly up pretty quick.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
