Sawtooth Pattern

Post by Uncle Flapp » Sun Oct 05, 2014 8:46 pm

Greetings all. I am sure this has been covered before but I am curious about the sawtooth pressure pattern that appears when things are going well. Pressures will hold steady for about 5 minutes, rise 1cmH2O over 3 minutes, then go back to the original EPAP over 1 minute. Repeat.

I am curious about the reason for this.

Thanks!

- Flappy

Maybe it's a shark's tooth? Don't go in the water--please.

That pattern is just part of the normal Respironics auto adjusting algorithm and those little saw tooth looking spikes are the machine just testing the airway a little bit with that small inrease. Sometime it senses the need to test things and sometimes not.
It's normal operating procedure though..

Thanks, Pugsy. I wasn't sure if it was therapeutic or something with the machine just testing the waters (pun intended).
