S9 Autoset display light setting

Post by john844 » Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:41 am

Is there a way to specify that I don't want the display to light up on the S9 Autoset. When the machine starts or stops, it lights up the display. This is not much of an issue when going to bed, but it is quite bright in the middle of the night if I turn off the machine to get up or go to the bathroom. It is usually still illuminated when I return to the room a few minutes later.

I looked for a setting and probably just looked right past it or didn't recognize it. Can someone help me find it if it exists. I suppose I can throw a towel over the machine or tape a piece of cardboard over the display, but that is a last resort.

Thanks,
John

I actually like the light. I make a game of it and try to get back into bed before the light goes out!

I like that. It doesn't bother me, I am already up. The wife is not quite as amused with it. I can tell it bothers her, but she will never say anything to me.

there's no setting, she'll just have to cover it up and then you can stub your toe in the dark. I've used it as a night light in the past

There is no setting that effects the lighting. Some people cover it with something.

I was afraid of that, but was hoping it was just a setting. Thanks for the help.

I think I am going to try using a small square of cardboard attached with painters tape on one edge. That way I can flip it up to see the display when I want to.

Thanks,
John

Yep...you can land a jet in my bedroom it is so bright!!!

I just have a dark towel that stays on top of the unit -- and it actually protects it as well.

I agree with some others that I like the light - its a night light that shows me the way back to my bed. it really doesn't stay on all that long to be a bother.....
