help w install SleepyHead

Post by pranayama » Thu Sep 25, 2014 4:53 pm

I'm moderately awake and ready to try this. I have read Pugsy's info on installation.
I have windows 8.1.
From http://sleepfiles.com/SH/, when I clicked on "Latest Window Version," I downloaded a folder that has "BrokenGL" in name. When I unzipped it and clicked on exec file, I got a pop up window that suggested "OpenGL will run more smoothly" on my computer. Is this accurate? If so, how do I download OpenGL? At http://sleepfiles.com/SH, it seems to be associated with Mac.
Thank you.

Go ahead and ignore the message about the "openGL" and just proceed with using this Windows version for now.
It will work just fine and other than maybe being a tiny bit slower it shouldn't make any difference.
Right now there isn't an "OpenGL" version of Windows being offered that has all the dlls.

opengl is a thing for all computers, it's a Graphics Library that sleepyhead uses.

I've harassed mark about his leaving all that stuff about brokengl up to confuse people, *glares at the aussie* because at this point, there is *only* the brokengl version.

the (sensible) logic is that the brokengl version works for everybody, so during the testing phase, that's the only one out... so I says "why not take out the references to the non-broken version and quit confusing people?" and he just grumps that he'd have to put that back in for the next release...

*shakes head* programmers.

Thank you Pugsy and palerider. Have downloaded successfully. Now need a SD card reader. I see they're inexpensive.

They are inexpensive... however a new computer might already have one. Did you check? Almost all notebooks do and many desktops.
