Sleep Center on Oz Today

Dr. Michael Breus is great!

Now all the comments coming making fun of Dr. Oz will be labeled hackneyed, tired, worn out, overworked, banal, trite, clichéd, platitudinous, unoriginal, unimaginative, uninspired.

Thanks CG, I set a reminder to watch this. Agree with you on Dr. Breus as I noticed on his blog, he talked about the role of diet on sleep which I don't usually see discussed by most sleep specialists.

Silly question: is that Breus as in Zeus, or like Dr Zaius?

In the clip, I heard someone say, "Dr, Bruce" (my spelling).

Thank you Chunkyfrog. I had been pronouncing it Dr. Brickyard.

Curious about the diet Breus recommends. What is it?

To quote Garfield (the cat); "The first word in "diet" is "die"."
So where is Dr. House? --Dr. Sheldon Cooper? --Drs. Howard and Fine?--Dr. Demento? --Dr. Ruth Westheimer?

Unless I missed something, he didn't really state anything on his website although he mentioned diet playing a role in circadian rhythms. During the show, he suggested eating an omega rich breakfast during as that increases melatonin. And it did include "evil" oatmeal if I remember correctly although that doesn't have omegas but does increase the melatonin. I didn't sense he was a Paleo diet guy.

I felt a bit left out--it would have been nice if someone had brought up some of the common indications of OSA.
Could have been a few dozen people saying, "Damn! I wake up with a headache, too, or have nightmares of drowning or suffocation, or fall asleep in the afternoon."
A golden opportunity completely blown!

Dr. Breus is not a nutritionist, so he doesn't make comprehensive recommendations on diet. His blog does have what I would call "tips" on diet - http://www.theinsomniablog.com/.service ... ter.q=diet
