Okie Dokie. today's report should be pretty short. Basically, I felt good all day yesterday. My sweetie and I shopped for a new SUV yesterday and have pretty much dediced on a new Hyundai Santa Fe. We're supposed to go look at one today. I felt nicely rested, fairly energetic and had a positive attitude. That's better than I've felt in a few years!
I got my CPAP 420G switched to a 420E auto titrating unit on Thursday. I use the full face ultra mask. I gave my nose a spritz or 2 of saline solution and a spritz of Flonase about 30 minutes before going to sleep. Also, I took a Tylenol PM at the same time.
Last night, I went to sleep about 10PM, woke at 6AM, feeling pretty good, but still a bit tired. I got up, wandered around the house and smoked a ciggie outside. Then, about 6:15, back to bed and slept soundly until almost 9:30 AM. My sweetie said that I didn't snore, didn't thrash around and that the mask didn't make any "untoward" sounds. All in all, a wonderful 11 hours of sleep!! WOWZERS!
I think I'm about ready to jump onto the APAP bandwagon, but I'm going to give it a few more nights.
One thing keeps coming to mind: We are responsible, to a very large degree, for our own successful therapy! The Dr.s, insurance companies and the DMEs can be a bit intimidating and frustrating, but if WE keep perservering and downright badgering them, I think we can get what we need. But, it is OUR responsibility to keep after things until we get them right. Yep, at times it sure seems frustrating, but IMHO, once we get things right on our therapy, it is worth every minute of our hard work and frustration.
Hang in there everyone!! This therapy works!

TXKajun,
Do you have th silverlining software to see how you are doing on the auto-pap?
You can get it and a cable for $99 at cpap.com. It's well worth it to see how the pressures adjusted and how your AHI is faring. It's also nice to monitor if you are having any problems with mask leaks.

I have several friends that are Santa Fe owners...they love them.
Hope you continue to have more success.
