That old familiar (icky) feeling

Post by Captain_Midnight » Sat Aug 16, 2014 10:48 pm

I've been faithfully xpapping since 2006; and since beginning therapy naps are a rarity. And especially, I just haven't napped without first donning the "scuba gear" (aka apap mask).

Until this afternoon, that is.

I just happened to fall asleep; and to make things worse, I was lying on my back.

Upon awakening, I didn't notice very much difference, but after a little bit I sensed that old familiar little icky/dull feeling; and, it persisted quite a while.

No real harm done, and I suspect that it's okay to re-learn just why it is that we so assiduously follow through with all the xpap therapy. If we do not, it's instant Yuckyville.

Only a few times have I fallen asleep without my CPAP... it only takes about an hour or two to realize what a blessing it is to have some relief from that 'icky' feeling, as you so aptly called it Once in the early days, I went camping for two nights in Marin county without my CPAP, mostly figuring I'd just knock myself out with pills and get by okay. BIG mistake.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
