Hello, newbie needs help please?

Post by robertsback » Sun Aug 17, 2014 5:27 am

Hello friends, My name is Robert if you didnt already guess!. I have just recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea (osa) and have been supplied with a Philips Respironics Bipap auto sv advanced system one series 60 model 961P without humidifier.
I have found this forum to be a wealth of very helpful information and tips for sleep apnea related conditions. I am just trying to get to grips with my machine and mask but its still early days and I will try my hardest to overcome the side effects which seem quite common from what I read. I know also from what I read that there is software around that can be useful to help you to understand what is happening during sleep time. I wondered if any of you kind people could point me in the right direction to a working version of software I can use with my unit please?, I have read that encore viewer or encore basic does not work with my machine but sleepyhead may work but encore pro latest vesion does?. I would be grateful if any of you fellow sufferers could help me please?. Thank you so much for listening and a huge thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Robert! Welcome to the forum! Work all your issues here. We have all been we're you are at now. You can download sleepy head free here. Look at Pugsy' profile. I think she has a link. Please consider the following:

- your "mask search" will probably be the most frustrating experience for you. I went thru a half a dozen masks before I finally found mine. What works for me may not work for you. Getting a mask that is comfortable and doesn't leak is the key to success!!
- please post your equipment the profile section of the control panel. This will help us help you!

Again, work all your issues here. We will help!

Welcome to the forum.
Check your private messages for information on Encore.
There is now a newer Basic version and it works with the 960/961 machines.
SleepyHead also now works with your machine as long as you get the latest version. Links in my signature lilne.

Welcome to the ASV world.
It will be helpful if you insert ASV in the subject line when you have questions.
That will attract the attention of other ASV users.

Is there some reason that you don't have a humidifier? Its pretty unusual to not have one.
