Mask type has impacted me in three ways:
1. Full face masks are hot and big - and tough to keep stable when side sleeping
2. FFM s and nasal masks can pinch/block your nasal "bridge" and impede nose breathing
3. Higher (10+) pressures through nasal pillows can actually purge congestion - sometimes with lowered humidity

Question here...so, how will you have any sort of compliance if/when you get sick and can't breathe through your nose? Personally, I think that's a load, not being able to use the FFM with a 7cm pressure...but then, what do I know? I'm working into my Quattro FFM with a pressure of 6-6.5cm... And I say "working into" it not because of the pressure, but because the leaks caused by the large footprint wake me. Even smallish leaks are enough to cause issues. YMMV.

I think I may have put the wrong machine. It says P 260 on the bottom It says System One Remstar plus c-flex

The model 260 ....in the equipment menu choice would be PR System One 60 Series Plus CPAP xxxx and yes...it's a brick and the only data it collects is hours of use
See this blog, especially the part about "help I am stuck with a brick"
http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/

The correct humidifier choice would be PR System One 60 Series heated tube humidifier with heated tube.

I too have no problem using a FFM with a low pressure, even as low as 4.

Turbulence. Like pinching off half the garden hose the force to push the water through is greater.
More garbage. I see/use pressures exceeding 20 cm often during the night and I have no problems at all using nasal pillow mask.

Are you a RT? Do you use cpap therapy yourself?
Gosh, it makes me wonder how many people at high pressures become non compliant due to mask issues because of misinformation posted by alleged professionals like Aussiegirl when the nasal pillow mask might be the solution.

If you ask around, MANY people have trouble using ANY mask at 4cm. Myself included. It's just not enough pressure for many adults.

Tattooed Lady - I have two FFMs for heavy congestion nights (F10 and Quattro Air) but I don't like them. I own my machine so don't have "compliance" issues but I do want to stay on mask for my health of course.

I am hoping my nose hosing regime will spare me most infections but I'm still expecting one or two per year. We shall see
