Low AHI vs Leak Rate

Post by Sheriff Buford » Thu Aug 07, 2014 9:14 am

I had a daily averaged a .3 AHI and zero leaks for years using my Fitlife Total mask. I have switched (and fell in love with) to the Resmed Airfit F10, but I'll get a leak rate of anywhere between a 2 L/min to a 8 L/min. I have been content with the low leak rate.. thanks to the constant beatings Pugsy gives me .

Question: Am I correct not to be concerned with those (low) leak rates as long as my AHI is low? I feel great... so no problems there.

I have always encouraged newbies to get control of their leaks, but I think that I DO have them "under control". What are the thoughts of the forum?

Are these median leak numbers or 95% leak numbers?

If your 95% leak rate is ranging between 2 and 8 L/min on a Resmed S9 with the F10, your leaks are well controlled and you don't need to worry about reducing them further.

Yes... they are the 95% leak numbers. Thanks, Robysue...
