Leak rate discrepancy S8 screen vs. ResScan

Post by Physician » Sun Jul 20, 2014 5:07 pm

My friend is using a S8 auto set. For the past four nights the screen has displayed 0.4 to 0.5 L/min leak rate. However, when she went to her doctor's office and they attached a data cable and make a print out using ResScan, the leak rate was a whopping 24 L/min .

Any explanation ?

Wish the machine had a data card and I had the unique card reader, but alas neither.

The S8 reports Liters per second on the LCD screen.
ResScan converts L/sec into L/min by multiplying by 60 seconds.
Leak of 0.4 L/sec on the LCD screen does equal 24 L/min
Just multiply L/sec times 60 sec to get L/min

ResMed changed the reporting value on the LCD screen to L/min on the S9 machines.
