SleepyHead numbers and graphs don't match

Post by wardmiller » Fri Jul 18, 2014 3:11 pm

I know about not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I've been wondering about the following for many months.

For example, looking at my yesterday's Respiratory Rate graph and the tabulated Statistics to the left, below the Event Breakdown pie chart, I see the Resp. Rate Max is 31.20. But on the graph, one peak is off the chart at 50, and there are at least 14 peaks above 31.

At Leak Statistics, is see Max 3.60. But on the graph there are about 30 hits above 3.6. There are similar problems with other graphs.

By showing a number to two decimal places, it is implying a specific precision, yet the numbers don't match the graphs.

I know these are nits and really not too important, but I've been dealing with numbers all my life and when I see numerous examples such as these, where numbers should be coming from the same source and should be identical and are not, I become suspicious of the entire presentation. I can't come up with a reason why the graphic presentation of certain numbers should not be identical to their tabulated presentation. Can any of you explain this, what appears to be sloppy programming? Some of us make important health decision based on these numbers and graphs, but when they are suspect, those decisions also become suspect.

I am using SleepyHead v0.9.2-3.

I have also seen this discrepancy. I trust the numbers more than the graphs. If you have doubts, you could always compare to ResScan. I think I read a newer version might fix it? I use v0.9.3-0, but haven't got around to updating. I love the program though, and can't believe its all just a private pet project thing. The sheep logo always makes me smile lol. Best wishes.

You are using an ancient version of SleepyHead. Mark has fixed many issues with graphs in newer versions.
