I've seen worse here. Just ignore the ridiculous prices and keep looking.

To some extent, you can't blame people. The medical mafia starts off with ripoff prices and fantasy billing. The old CPAP still works fine, and they don't understand the degree to which the newer machines have been improved.

Auto off was set to off, but auto on was set to off. But it's been that way for almost 4 years. Is it critical to have auto on set to on??? In fact what does auto on do? Thanks. Jon

BTW ... Blower hours were 8361. .... Is that enough go expect an intermittent failure?

auto on and auto off control whether or not the machine will start when you just slap on the mask and start breathing, (auto on) and will shut itself off after a minute or two when you remove the mask (auto off).

I have seen machines that won't run without some back pressure, they just pop up a message that says something like "hey dummy, hook up the hose!" and quit. (ok, it doesn't say EXACTLY that, but that's the gist of it )

it might be worthwhile to take the top off (they come apart pretty easy) and wiggle the electrical plugs on the main board...

I'll try that.

I may try using my insurance, except that I have an ACA policy now, and the Rx is from 2010. They may want me to jump through hoops as they all have become pathetic these days. I do have a platinum PPO plan, but if they don't just give me a machine, I really don't want to deal with these DME's and rental programs.

OK. Well, it was a thought. I think it's important to have the Auto On set to On and the Auto Off set to Off. That way, if the power goes out and then back on, your breathing should restart it with the Auto On set to On. And, if the Auto Off is set to On, a large leak could turn off the machine......and you don't want it turning off in those situations.

I still believe it would be worth the email or call to contact acbio(dot)com and see what they think.

Auto on- is a feature that will start the machine automatically when it senses you breathing through the mask. I have mine set to on, and it is acting up, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Mine started acting up about a month ago, shutting off and turning back on after a second or two. Sometimes, it would do it 3 or 4 times in a row and would not turn back on. I would have to unplug the machine and plug it back in. So, I found a back up machine, just in case this one quites completely. Mine only has around 3400 hours on it. I have insurance, but, i'm not due for a new machine until November. I think I'm going to try and see if I can switch to a ResMed S9 with the next machine. Seems to be several of these Resperonics having this same problem over the past 2 or 3 years.

I've had good luck with CL, but you may have to wait months to find a good price on a good machine locally. A good thing for anyone to do to get a spare unit or upgrade if they're not in a hurry.

You'll have to read a lot of ads with ridiculously high prices. People think they're a worth a lot more than they are because they bought at "brick and mortar" DME price, and may have also gotten a standard double ripoff price invoice from the DME that the insurance company knocks down by 50% or so.

Figure out the model numbers, and learn how to read the model number to be sure it really does actually work.
^^^Yes yes yes. I lucked out in April by stumbling on a great deal on a 560P within a week or two of settling down to watch CL, but I had to drive an hour to a small town to look at the machine before I committed to the purchase. I also learned how to check the pre-heat function of the humidifier. I still check CL every week or so and haven't seen a deal quite that good since.
