DOT Compliance check

Post by Tatooed Lady » Fri Jul 11, 2014 5:07 pm

My fleet manager (a.k.a. my "handler") is going to try to get me to one of our company's regular medical contacts next week to do a compliance check with my sleep data. Since I keep the machine and memory card in the truck, not an issue. I'm just curious, however, since this is my first (and hopefully last) face-to-face compliance check (I thought that's why I have the modem attached? So I don't have to go in?), should I expect to have to turn in the SD card? Is it something they just put into their computer, download to check results, then say, "yep,97% in the last 30 days, you're good?" If it's typical to turn in the card, I want to have an extra on hand...even though they would LOGICALLY probably provide a replacement...

they "should" just download the data, but a backup card wouldn't be a bad idea... just in case

If you can do it, make a copy of the SD card before you give them acces to yours .... Just in case.
Then you can continue in case something happens.

That is so the DME will get paid from your insurance. Nothing to do with DOT.

The DOT probably wants a face to face to ensure you and the machine and the data all match.
