PR Heated Hose info request

Post by JDS74 » Wed Jul 09, 2014 10:26 am

In my current configuration, I have a FP HC150 external humidifier in line between the Respironics Heated Humidifier and me. While that does give me the level of humidity I require beyond the point where the PR humidifier tank runs dry, I'm having some rainout issues - not too bad, just a little annoying. It also means that the Respironics heated hose is no longer an option for controlling rainout.

So ... Does anyone know of a source for the electrical connector compatible with the heated hose?
I will need one male connector and one female connector.
I would like to make a mini extension cord that will allow me to jump the two foot distance the HC150 imposes.

I can't help with your initial request but was just wondering if you had tried or considered the Hybernite heated hose?
Or hose cozy on the heated hose that doesn't have heat right now?

Hi pugsy:

I have the 6 foot hose covered by two hose cozies and the HC150 hose covered by the equivalent of four.
Also two layers on the 6" mask hose.

The rainout is happening in the last 12 inches or so.

As you can tell from some of my posts, experimentation to improve treatment efficacy is something I do.

I'll think about the Hybernite hose as a possibility.
Thanks.

If it's happening mainly in the last 12 inches of hose then perhaps the added moisture from your own exhaled breath is making the situation worse. If so, that's a tough one.
This time of year increasing the room temp isn't particularly appealing either.

Before I got my 60 series equipment I did have and use a Hybernite 2300 heated hose and it did a great job for my preferences which are high humidity and cold bedroom. I gave it away or I would let you try it.
Using it at the mask end might just keep the air warm enough at that end to maybe eliminate the cooler temps which release the moisture.

I think I have a solution.
The conversion kit for the Series 60 heated hose.

You get a heated hose, the replacement top fir the humidifier, and a 80 watt power supply.
Keeping the power supply as a backup, the net cost of the two ends is about $30.
So it looks as if I can make the extension cord.
