Switching CPAPs - use same memory card?

Post by delfinparis » Thu Jul 10, 2014 6:53 pm

I've been using a REMstar Pro 460 for the past few months, renting from insurance. Since it's much cheaper to buy my own, I have a REMstar Auto 560 coming from cpap.com tomorrow. Gotta support the forum benefactors!

Anyway, can I just transfer my old memory card into the new machine? I know it's a different model, but I'm assuming it won't matter. Just don't want to muck up the existing sleep data.

I'm dumping it into SleepyHead regularly anyway, so not the biggest deal in the world.

Also, excited to try out the whole auto-thing. I know the 460 had a trial auto, but I never used it. Excited to see if that affects my data for the better. We'll see!

You can use the old card in the new machine.
But, why would you?
SleepyHead will (has?) record the old data. And the new machine will record on the new card which SleepyHead will be able to read as well. Just keep the old card and continue.

Using the same SD card with multiple PR System One machines will work just fine. The machines don't care and neither does SleepyHead or Encore. I had 4 different PR S1 machine's data on 1 SD card at one time. The PR S1 machine will create a new folder for each serial numbered machine and that's how it keeps them separate.

The same can't be said with the S9 machines...they don't like it if another machine's data is on it.
