How many diff. styles and sizes of FF masks have you tried? It's what you do when mouth breathing dries you out and loses therapy air.

Thanks. I'm wearing nasal mask with chin strap. The light headedness concerned me more than anything. Makes sense about mouth breathing causing issue with throat. I did have a few Vinos last night
What's up with the dreams?

Well, either you're experiencing REM for the first time in a long time, or else possibly having some 02 problems... do you use an oximeter overnight to test yourself? Plus, if you already have low BP, Cpap can lower it even more and cause the symptoms you had when first getting up, but don't assume that or anything of course.

And lastly, booze prior to bedtime is a definite no-no here - it's a depressant and that can really mess up therapy and OSA. Sorry!

Thanks again.
I do not use oximeter and do not know what it is. My B. P. is normally high,on 3 meds.
BP is better with good night sleep.
Not a regular drinker.
Slept decent last night, gonna call supplier about mask options to take care of leaks as well as other questions

An oximeter is a little thing that goes on your finger...

and monitors your 02 overnight to see whether it drops below acceptable levels at certain times and for how long... if it does, you want to address that (not talking about 1-2 instances of borderline and very short times). Lots of us use them at least once in a while. The desaturations ['desats'] would have been looked at and reported in your original sleep study. They can cause some peculiar events (what might seem like a long dream when you remember it, may be a lot shorter in reality).

The link I gave you is for the least expensive model that does overnights (the '+' in the name is important) and I've used it too... Kevin, who runs that store, is very helpful to talk to.

Hope things continue to go well.

The dreaming is normal. You are finally getting deep sleep. When I started cpap therapy, I started dreaming like there's no tomorrow. Now I dream almost every night. Enjoy the good ones...

I had weird and vivid dreams prior to starting Cpap, and they went away afterward. Now I have dreams, but not such peculiar ones.

My guess is that you are mouthbreathing with a nasal mask. This can cause dry mouth and sore throat. It also causes a drop in pressure below the therapeutic level and you could still be having apneas. The apneas will cause awakening and then you remember dreaming.

Eventually, the sooner the better, you may have to use a FFM which will maintain the pressure and prevent apneas even when mouthbreathing.

You have any data with that machine? You need the machine data much more than a pulse-oximeter.
