I have a problem with the hose!

Post by kjell » Sun Jul 06, 2014 1:45 pm

I have a problem with the hose! It wakes me up several times each night, how do you have your hoses when you are asleep? So, I have more problems! My nose itches so I wake up 3-4 times each night of it. So I do not sleep well with apap?

I use google translator hope you have patience with it

Kjell

I use a hose support system that lets the hose hang vertically and out of my way at night.

Lots of folks use some type of hose holder. They have clips, stands, and retractor style management systems. Our site sponsor has quite a few to choose from. https://www.cpap.com/cpap-comfort-clean ... omfort.php

I usually run the hose from the machine, in between the headboard and the mattress to about the middle of the pillow; then up an over. It works ok; but I have to be aware of hose management. If I was using some sort of suspension hose management, I'd probably just tie it to the headboard up higher. I don't think the stand type would work well for me because I sleep in the middle of the bed with the headboard against the wall.

trim your nose hairs, the air blowing around in the ffm makes my nose itch unless I trim them.

Get a hose hanger or make your own. Best investment I've made! Messing with all this cpap stuff, why deal with a friggin' hose all night? A hose hanger will solve the problem!

A hose hanger is convenient but it will not solve your itch problem. I agree with the nose hair problem.

Thanks for all the answers! Having looked at HoseBoddy it seems good but shipping costs $ 80 so I may make one myself! Kjell

Hi, Kjell, I'm not sure where you are located. If you are in the US, you can get this from Amazon for $46 with $7 shipping.

For do it yourself hose management system you might take a stroll through these various threads to see the ideas that others have come up with.

They can be fancy or simple depending on what you have on hand to construct with and how far you want to go.

Lincare only sends me dead hoses, I just throw them behind my headboard and let the tossing and turning begin. During the night I'm all over the bed in al positions. I wake up about hourly pull my mask down roll over, drink water go back to sleep 1 minute tops. Jim
