Post by Ava with NO sleep » Thu Jul 03, 2014 11:10 pm

Can anyone recommend a doctor for Sleep Apnea in Atlanta area??

I saw 1 Dr. but he could not figure out my issues with CPAP Changes that happened after I had major surgery 2 yr ago... Everything Changed!!! still trying to work it out myself, but this week started noticing that I am tired again in the afternoons. Oh here we go again! I am thinking, and I just had surgery again 4 wk ago minor surgery but still.

Has anyone else noticed changes after having surgery as well??

Thanks

Ava:

Could you post your equipment ( link in the signature block ) and list your pressure settings?

Sometimes there is a lingering effect of anesthesia that can affect your breathing and that might show up on your stats.
An example is Fentanyl. A listed side effect is respiratory depression (not inhaling sufficient oxygen).
These lingering effects can last 7-10 days or longer. Although for almost everyone, the effects are very mild, if the patient is sensitive, they are not.

If these effects are occurring immediately after surgery, it would be well to get the surgical reports for all of your surgeries and pay particular attention to the anesthetics that were used.

Ok I updated my equipment

Hope it all shows up this time, did a response and it went to Never Never Land.

also and I hope I am reading this correctly

AHI 1.3 for 1 day
1.1 - 7 day

I don't know how to find the pressure settings

Is this good/bad/ugly? or just wait it out.... I had the surgery on June 4 so it has been a few weeks..... I know in recovery the nurses kept putting me on Oxygen due to I wasn't taking in enough or breathing deep enough after surgery.

AHI numbers less than 5 are considered good treatment.
Congratulations!
