Encore Prescription Files - PR System One

Just as an experiment. I loaded up Encore Pro and created a dummy patient in the data base.
Then I created a prescription for a CPAP machine, a CPAP mask, and a CPAP humidifier by selecting from the lists available within Encore.
Finally, I "sent" the prescription to the SD card.

What got created on the SD card were three files.
USE.000
USE.002
USE.003

I didn't see any way to "lock" the machine so I assume that the existence of one or more of these files locks in the prescription values for the CPAP machine in which the SD card is loaded.

My assumption is the USE.000 file is the one with the machine settings values but a little more experimentation will be required to establish that.

The files are located in P-Series folder and are in create date-time order in the order I created the various elements.
The earliest file, USE.000 was created first and corresponds to the creation of the machine setting information, etc.

Now I re-opened Encore and edited the settings prescription. Surprise, the files are now called:
REUSE.000
REUSE.002
REUSE.003

and the dates only changed from the original for the .000 file.
Ergo, the prescription therapy data is stored in the .000 file.

Follow this advice at your own risk.
Make a copy of the SD card before changing anything in case you need to put things back.
My theory is that if your machine reverts back to the original settings even after you have changed them using the clinician menu, then look at the P-Series folder on the SD card and see if there is a .000 file type. Therein lies the DME's coding of the settings. Delete that file and the machine settings are unlocked. That's my guess.
