My CPAP educator

Post by jsc360 » Sat Jun 14, 2014 12:16 pm

Been on CPAP for a little over a month now. Have seen my CPAP educator once since then and was told to send her an email or call whenever I have any questions. It has been next to impossible to get in touch with her. Going to see my doctor in a few weeks for the first time since being diagnosed. Not entirely sure why I need to see him. Curious to know if anyone else has had the same experience trying to contact a CPAP educator.

Welcome. What do you mean by CPAP "educator" ? A respiratory therapist, nurse, medical equipment supplier....? As far as I know there's no formal credential or title of "CPAP educator."

In any case many of us have had to deal with unresponsive staff involved in our therapy. Probably most of us!

Follow-up appointment with the doctor after starting therapy is often required by insurance.

Rather cheeky to assume a title, and then not be available for the assumed function.

I saw my sleep doctor about a month after starting. He wanted to check in and make sure that things were going well at the start, and help me make any adjustments that were needed moving forward. Next appointment after that was 4 months, then 8 months between appointments seeing him.

Considering that I only take my SD card in with me now, and he's a really nice, knowledgeable guy that actually offers information and likes to chat, not a bad thing at all *smile*.

I've never heard of a "CPAP Educator" either...I thought that those things used firmware, and didn't need education.

I did not have a live CPAP "educator"; this wonderful forum is full of all the CPAP educators. I have not seen my sleep doc since right after my sleep study back in January. My compliance check was with a nurse, and I saw a different sleep doc for about 2 minutes to meet the "face to face" requirement. Thanks, folks, for all the help!

I sawhim riding west from you on his unicorn, He was heading toward a rainbow that had a huge pot of gold under it. It was guarded by a leprechaun.

My crap educator lives with me it is me. I went to my DME, to pick it up after they said it was in. Then I went back 4 days later when they really got it in, and picked it up, and took it home.

I plugged it in and used it. Looked on the internet, found this place and tweaked my treatment for the maximum good. Got the software, because it came without a steering wheel, or windshield, been happly driving it for 14,000 hours. Jim

That is what is printed on her card she gave me at our appointment.

If she truly is that and is any good at it she is probably very busy.

If I get cards printed out, does that make me what they say?
How far can you go before it is fraud?

I love Vista Prints ad's, if I wanted to start a bussiness, I don't think I would name it anything to do with Vista, the second worst operating system WinDozes has ever made, first being Millenium.

My CPAP educators are all on this forum, and I'm enormously grateful for them!
