ORION Cpap Machine for Travel...reviews?

Post by Kahfree » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:11 pm

Does anyone know how good this machine is? I know its a travel machine, but I was wondering if its a decent machine to keep around as a backup if there was a situation where it was needed if I was unable to get home for some reason (IN CA that CAN happen! ) I figure to keep it in the car with me would be good. The price is good I think...but need opinions.

When I was looking for a backup/travel machine, my main concern was to find something that would "feel" like my S9, because knowing how I react to things, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep well if I had a machine that felt a lot different...I'm on an auto and use the exhale pressure relief.

Is this an issue for you? Do you need to duplicate the feel of your current machine? Or are you one of those enviable people who can use just about anything as long as the pressure is correct?

I don't know anything about this particular machine, but just wanted to plant the seed for you to think about how you might react to a machine that felt different.

I don't know anything about this machine either. Does it have or come with a humidifier option?

I dont think I need any fancy machine as a back up, and my pressure is a set pressure to 9.0 so I assume it will be ok. I just wish I knew more about this machine. For the cost, its ok to have as a Temporary machine in a pinch. At $124.00 its not bad for what I want it for.

I have had an Orion CPAP machine for over a year and se it as a second machine by my recliner should I fall asleep there. So far itworks fine. It is not the specs of my Resperonics machine buy my bed. It is fine as a second machine, a back up or travel. Iwouldnot use it as a primary machine.

I have used this machine as my main and travel machine for over 15 years. It has worked with out any problems at all. My first machine was 4 times the cost of this unit and it did not last as long as this one, nor was it as good. I plan on not changing to any other unit for the rest of my life.

Look at the date of the OP.
This machine is no longer available so this thread may be moot.

Their current equivalent machine is the Carefusion Puresom for $422.
