Not from those people who know me very well that's for sure and 49er probably was just being nice because she knows me fairly well.Papit wrote:She doesn't hide it that well.
If you all look closely at some of my responses yesterday...you will see some telltale signs of a bitch. I didn't have my usual amount of patience yesterday and what little I had to start with was quickly sucked up.
It was a good thing that no grumpy old man tried my patience yesterday. Things might have got really ugly.

Re: Sleeping Pill during Sleep Study
My doctor encouraged it due to the fact that I have insomnia and am prescribed xanax for anxiety and lunesta for sleep. The study is so uncomfortable and frustrating, I took both xanax and a lunesta! Study went great. I guess it depends on the doctor but how can any doctor expect someone to sleep without any kind of medication with all of those wires attached to you and lying in a strange room and bed?

This affects diagnosis and even more titration!!! I am glad to see a little movement toward full PSG in the home in the newest Sleep.Bryan050876 wrote:My doctor encouraged it due to the fact that I have insomnia and am prescribed xanax for anxiety and lunesta for sleep. Re: Sleeping Pill during Sleep Study
$6,000 ??? Did you mean $600?? My truck driving brother just had a sleep study done. They were able to figure that he needed a CPAP machine within the first 4hrs of the test. Thus did the final test that same night. It cost him a total of $500.zoocrewphoto wrote:sleepstar wrote:It's better for you to sleep with sleeping tablet than not sleep at all and have to do it again
Most doctors will prescribe it but note to the techs that "only if necessary".
Agreed. My sleep study was more expensive than most. $6,000 and only 85% was covered by insurance. I was told that if I did not sleep a minimum of 5 hours, insurance would not pay any of it, and *I* would be stuck with the full bill. So, that would have been horrible if I did not sleep enough during the study.
He now is trying to decide on the equipment he wants.

Re: Sleeping Pill during Sleep Study
I meant $6,000. Like I said, it was higher than most. But I am grateful that I had a very good sleep study with a great sleep tech. I was really dreading it as I do not normally sleep before 2am, and I am usually awake part of every hour in hotel rooms. I was also terrified of the cpap machine. My sleep tech picked the perfect mask for me on the first try and fitted it so well that I slept for 5 1/2 hours with the mask on (no leaks), and I hadn't slept that long straight for many years, maybe never. I learned that I was severe and needed to get serious about this. I also felt so much better the next day and worse the day off (back home with crappy sleep), so I had a taste of what success would be. Compared to how many bad sleep studies I have heard about, I know had an awesome sleep study that got me started really well. So, while I hated the price and probably would not have done it had I known what my portion would be, I am glad I did it, and it was worth it.Brother of Trucker wrote:$6,000 ??? Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
