Then again you can't discount the naturally stupid, they breed! Jim
You can defend the stupid but they are like cockroaches, everywhere!
I have met a few con artists - they are the nicest, most trustworthy people you may meet. People will happily hand over lots of money to them because they are the salt of the earth. It is not their fault that they sometimes get in over their head or have friends who are a bad influence......
As far as the emails are concerned - people have been trained to trust those in authority. These emails prey on that that trust.
I was a scam victim ONCE, my own fault, the heaven aligned, and I bit. A crew saw me up on my roof ans convinced me they had sealant from a job left of the truck and would apply it to empty the tank. Later I found out they had put sand on the roof and painted it with aluminum paint. After I paid I inspected the repair, my bad! I called the leader of the scam, he wasin a seedy area of town, I took my gun with me, and got half my money back.
Later I called the real roofing company and got it all replaced for only $10,000.00 dollars, they did it right.
Rule #1 "Don't make any purchaces without checking them out, you can put it off until tomorrow."
Rule #2 "If it sounds took good to be true, it's a scam" Jim
