Wanting to try a TAP PAP mask

Post by knothead » Fri May 23, 2014 11:20 am

I was wondering...I was told during my sleep study that I was a mouth breather, well I have tried a few masks, all FFM. Does the Tap PAP nasal mask with the teeth guard help keep the mouth closed, would really like to get away from the FFM and the lines on my face if possible...I have used a mouthpiece before for TMJ but don't remember if it kept my mouth closed...this was before cpap...any info would be great.

The TapPap is great for keeping the nasal pillows in the right place, but it does NOT keep your mouth closed because it only fits on the top teeth. I would love it even more if it had the bottom part and would hold the jaw forward. However, alas, it does not, and I have gone back to using the Aloha with a chin strap. Seems to work better, but not perfect. Allergies are playing havoc at the moment, so I suspect I might need the FFM, but that is alos challenging because I have a beard!

The Tap Pap works well for me and I was a mouth breather. I have been using it for almost a year.
