Quattro Air For Her XS

Post by Twittybird77 » Tue May 06, 2014 6:04 pm

I am a long term BIPAP now AVAPS user. I began in 6/30/2006. With a dx of SOSA. I was 3 months short of being eligible for Medicare coverage & had to purchase my first BIPAP VPAPIII ST. At that time I was overweight but am disable due to a neuromuscular disease. My pressures now are IPAP Max: 23cmH20, IPAP Min: 10cmH20, EPAP: 6cmH20, Target Tidal Volume 500 ml, Rise Time: 3 Back Up Rate: 10 breaths per minute (S/T) Mode.
2009 Medicare Paid for my first BIPAP Respironics System One. In 2011 Had to to to BIPAP/AVAPS so now Medicare won't pay for a new AVAPS. Not medically necessary, even appealing with sending PFT showing the PFT are now in single digits. So I now have a loaner from Muscular Dystrophy that belong to a man with ALS who died. It has been repaired once (but still working). My muscles in my jaw have weakened so I can no longer use a Nasal Mask. Now since 2012 I have lost 57 lbs & am having trouble finding a FFM that fits with having to use a liner & gel pad for bridge of nose.
Masks
1. Mirage Vista (would never seal)
2. SWIFT Nasal Pillow (Great)
3. CPAP PRO Oral interface (Bad Mistake) Too flimsy
4 Liberty Mirage Hybrid (Bad Mistake) Clips would not stay in
5. Respironics WISP (Great if you are not a mouth breather & can wear a chin-strap)
6. Quattro FX (wrong size) even with PAD a CHEEK LINERS couldn't stop the leaks
7. Quattro FX (right size) still didn't work
8. Quattro Air For Her in SX cushion (still have bridge of now issues & air blowing in my eyes.

Current DME Provider is now unwilling to work with me anymore since I have returned two different masks. Did I mention I hate CMS Competitive Bidding
Any suggestions from anyone. I have never been out of compliance since 2006 & I am afraid to start now since my diaghpram muscle is weakening again.

What a time you have had! I'm so sorry! All I can think of, as a relative newbie, is to ask if you've tried any other liners besides Pad-A-Cheek? Karen has great products, but the liner did not work for me (a combination of problems, I think). I use RemZzzz liners and they were a game changer for me. I use Quattro Air, and what leaks I do have I usually sleep through. Without those, I would probably not have made compliance.

Best of luck to you, I hope you can find something that works for you, whether it is a different mask, liner or something else.

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

Have you looked at Resmed's latest FFM?
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... r-her.html
It uses the Quattro Air cushion ...I think... but maybe a little different headgear which might allow for a slightly different fit.
It comes with free return insurance so if it doesn't work out you can get your money back and cpap.com will even provide a prepaid shipping label for the return.

Otherwise I am not much help as I have never used a full face mask. Too bad the mouth won't stay shut...the new AirFit P10 (nasal pillow) mask is awesome comfortable and even surpasses the Swift FX for the majority of users.
