Sorry if I missed this suggestion in the chain of responses.

Get nasal pillows. This forum has endless complaints about face masks.

Boy can I relate to CPAP frustration. I went a year without being able to use my equipment much--when I did I would wake up at 2 am and totally take my mask off and pretend to sleep. Then I started experimenting with essential oils to help me calm down and relax--and actually had success on the machine for the first time. I've since developed a product line (Pur-Sleep) that I am happy to offer to people here on the forum free of charge. All I ask is for honest feedback (public or private). All I need is a PM with your name, a shipping address, and your email address (all personal information is confidential). I am convinced it will help you use your equipment--it's pretty fast and automatic for most frustrated patients.

Just wanted to jump in here in case some new members see the post by Sleepguy and wonder about his credibility here. His product, Pur-Sleep, is available on our host's website (cpap.com) and he has a website. Years ago I did receive the free sample pack he mentions and later went on to purchase more product a couple times. While aromatherapy won't make your mask fit , in general, I found it helpful to take my mind off the mask, and adding something that is a pleasure made masking up not a totally negative experience. Also, I think my brain began to interpret the scent as a sleep cue. My post is really not intended to be about the product, as people can make their own decision whether aromatherapy interests them. I'm just confirming I've done business with this person multiple times, his product is on our host's site, and his product is not a competitor to our host.

And I heartily recommend Sleepguy's PAP-CAP. It's a 1000x better than a chin strap and helps keep your jaw shut. I mouth breath with FFMs because my jaw falls open, and the pap-cap keeps it shut and prevents dry mouth.

I love his pur sleep oils too - Clear is my fave and I use it most nights. <3 <3
