Sleep Dr. retiring

Post by msla » Tue Apr 22, 2014 4:23 pm

The sleep Dr. I have seen is closing his practice. I am having the records transferred to my PCP. I guess that I will be helping her learn about CPAP and how to write prescriptions for me if I need them. Luckily, I have not had any issues with my sleep apnea that need attention.

Well good! It's cheaper to use your PCP and there is no need to go,to a sleep, specialist. Your PCP can write the scripts for you. Mine does for me. Most of them all know about CPAP so no need to worry,

I agree with sleeplessinaz. I have never seen a sleep doctor, but I would if I had unresolved issues. It seems that if you have a bucket-full of health problems you would need to see one if you could not achieve proper treatment for sleep apnea. Again, I wouldn't hesitate to see a sleep doctor, but my primary care doctor will write prescriptions for me.... which has left me fat-dumb-and happy...

I am not so worried about myself, but he was one of the good ones who didn't flinch when I brought in my print-outs from my S9 card. I feel bad for the patients who might not get a Dr as understanding as him. In addition to sleep certification, he is a board certified psychiatrist too so that may have contributed to his listening ability.
