If I have to move from a CPAP to a BIPAP after a new sleep study later this year and if I'm diagnosed with a higher pressure after my new study and I might have to switch to BIPAP what's a good BIPAP machine made by Philips Respironics or ResMed? Members on this board have already told me a good Philips Respironics CPAP machine is the DS460S and in the ResMed line the CPAP machine to consider is an S9 Elite; not the Escape. Does Philips Respironics and or ResMed make a good BIPAP machine if I have to move to BIPAP and if so which model or models should I be looking at now?

[quote]BiPAP is the proprietary name for their bilevel PAP machine; the equivalent bilevel machine on the Resmed side is called a VPAP. They're both good machines. Back in January when someone else posed this question I wrote the fairly detailed comparison of the Resmed S9 VPAP Auto and the PR System One Series 60 BiPAP Auto:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=95147&p=880411#p880411
As for models:
All PR System One BiPAPs and Resmed S9 VPAPs record full efficacy data.
On the PR side: The 660 is the BiPAP Pro, which is a fixed pressure bilervel machine. The 760 is the BiPAP Auto, which has an Auto bilevel mode.
On the Resmed side: The S9 VPAP S is the fixed pressure bilevel machine. The S9 VPAP Auto is the auto bilevel machine.

Re: Good BIPAP machine
I have a System One RemStar BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex (760P). I have been using 1 year at the end of this month. Seems to do good job on me.
I wish you Good Luck!
