Ok........so I had changed my settings to 10.0 to 13.0 on auto, recently and was getting better numbers. Then last night I had this......the pressure only went up to 12.2 on 95%!

So was my doctor right? Should it be set between 9.0 and 12.0? The thing is I feel so much better since I made this change and I have much more energy. I don't understand the techie stuff well enough yet to know what is going on. My concentration is still not good enough to sit down and really learn but it's slowly improving.

The other question I have is if I put a new card in the machine will it copy the data on to the card so I have my own copy that does not go with the rental? I have it on Sleepyhead on my computer, of course, but would like to copy it to a card which as I write this I just realized I could just copy it from my comp. Still curious, though.

Last, no one answered on my question about bags under the eyes. I look like hell.....bags and puffiness every morning when I wake up like I never slept but I'm feeling really good.....what the heck? Is there anything that can be done about it? I'm going on job interviews and look like I'm sick or whatever!!!

Thanks all of you amazing experts!!!

Leave the settings alone...your AHI is great. A high range of of 13 will probably be better. The machine will only go up as high as needed regardless of the higher setting. Your 95% only shows up as 11.8 on the report.

1) When you put a new card in, the CPAP will copy all of the detail information to the new card and none of the waveform information. You can compare and copy those files yourself.

2) You have selected the incorrect humidifier for your Series 60 machine. The correct one will look like the right side of the machine you picked for your CPAP.

3) Did the bags under your eyes get worse after the increased pressure? That would suggest some sort of leak from your nasal/sinus passages. A referral to an ENT doctor or to an Ophthalmologist might be in order.

One experiment you might try is switching to an oral mask so there is less pressure through your nasal passage. For the experiment to work, you will have to learn very quickly how not to breathe through your nose and not have to use the nose clips. If you can make that work AND the bagginess goes down that may be diagnostic of nasal leakage. You would still need to see an ENT etc. to actually find the problem and/or fix it.

I normally don't suggest the oral mask unless there is some compelling reason. They are difficult for some folks to use. FFMs and nasal masks are usually the better way to go for comfort and humidity reasons.

I have a link in my signature block about oral masks that might be helpful to read (Oracle 2)

ok, I think it's fixed.....thanks!

Yes, however, the first month on CPap my machine was going up to near 14. They had it set from 5.0 to 20.0. Recently had a complete eye exam due to blurring and tearing. Diagnosis was cataracts not needing surgery and dry eyes. I also have asthma and lots of allergies including to my dogs, cats, dust, indigenous plants and trees of the northwest where I live, dust mites, etc. Just found out the ceterizine I take nightly is causing the blurred vision. Would the puffiness and bags be related to all of that?

I can't afford this experiment at the moment but when I can, I intend to buy a tap pap but that uses pillows as well, I think.

I will look at this, thank you! I don't know if this would be an issue, but I wear a night guard for bruxism (which is way better since I started using Cpap) . I will get in touch with my doctor to see about an ENT referral. I have already contacted her about the eye bluriness but didn't think to mention the puffiness. Thanks again!
