Newbie with data software question

Post by Sharrykb » Thu Apr 10, 2014 11:59 am

Hi! I had a sleep study done in February and was diagnosed with OSA. I had the CPAP titration done on March 20th and finally got my CPAP prescription. Yesterday the DME sent the paperwork to my insurance to get approved for the Resmed S9 Autoset. If all goes well I should have my machine next week.

In anticipation of getting my machine I am wondering what software I should have to be able to read my data. I've seen reference on this forum (yes, I've been lurking for a while now) to both ResScan and Sleepyhead. I don't know enough at this point to know which one I need - or do I need both? And where do I get the software I need? Any help I can get on this so I can be ready to hit the ground running when I get my machine would be greatly appreciated.

SleepyHead information is easily found in my signature line.
ResScan is Windows only software so if you use a Mac there isn't a Mac version like with SleepyHead.
If you want ResScan send me a private message and I will point you to where you can get more information on it.

If you can use both software products then I would suggest that you try both. Won't hurt a thing to have both so you can see which you might like the best.
For quick viewing I prefer SleepyHead. It simply is much faster to use. The one thing that ResScan does that Sleepyhead doesn't that sometimes I like to see is a red line for the 24 L/Min large leak territory beginning. Sometimes with SleepyHead I can't see just how much time I was in large leak territory.
Both present the same data but just visually differently.

Thank you for the advice Pugsy! I have Windows 8.1 so trying both software programs is probably an excellent idea. I will PM you in a minute about ResScan.
