follow up side-sleeper question

Post by nursejane72 » Sun Apr 06, 2014 4:46 am

Good morning all. I posted last week about the difficulty I was having sleeping on my side, my preferred postion. I tried masks and nasal pillows and nothing was working, they were just too uncomfortable and in the way of my face/cheek when in the pillow. A couple people suggested the Bella ear loops with nasal pillows. I suggested it to my DME therapist and she said "oh you don't want those, people just say they fall off"...I also had previously wanted XS nasal pillows and she said my nose measured S.....I still thought they were too big.
So I went to Amazon and ordered and paid for myself the Bella loops and EXTRA small nose pillows. Last night for the very first time I got more than an hour of cpap sleep...my data this morning says 5.5 hrs of cpap and mask fit off 100 %....that is unheard of with me....I am so thrilled.
So if anyone else is having trouble sleeping on their side, I sure recommend the loops !! And the tiny pillows were sooo comfortable !!
I'm a happy camper and can't wait to tell DME therapist that they work for ME and that's what's important !!

So glad you worked that out - sometimes we just have to try something we think will work, even though the DME doesn't seem to want to do it - I hope they listen to you now. Congratulations on a good night!
