First Compliance Visit

Post by jaye8898 » Thu Apr 03, 2014 9:49 pm

Well, today was my first of three compliance visits and I was found 100% compliant with an average of 8-9 hours use per night. I felt "humored" which was annoying. They reset my machine to 9.5 to 12.0 stating their software showed Average AHI was 2.3. I was told to stop looking at my daily reports and concentrate on a month average!

I don't understand why the sleep team does not want me to educate myself. I was told the max pressure I've gone to has been 10.8 (that is the "avg device pressure 90% of the time"). I intend to continue self-monotoring and will abide by their recommendations at this time depending on how things go. I distinctly saw my pressures go up to 14 on a few occasions!

I don't know if they locked me out of the clinical set up. If so, is there a way to get around that? I was using a starting pressure of 10 but the doctor disagreed. I didn't get to see her personally....was told to wait in the lobby while she and the RT consulted and downloaded the report. hmmmm.....wasn't this supposed to be about me? Good thing I have an appointment with the sleep doc on the 22nd!

I wanted to discuss the "clusters" we've been seeing on my reports like below but............

Anyway, thanks to all who have helped.....I am frustrated by the pat on the head I got and the "off you go now". Just venting!

First of all, Jaye, good job. Second, I share your feelings about the pat-on-the-head attitude. I also resent the need to get new prescriptions every year when we all know this is something we'll always need. Sigh.

Great that things are going so well. With an AHI of 2.3, how do you feel in the morning?
Even if they lock you out of the clinicians menu, you can get in anyway.
With the machine powered off, take out the SD card,
Turn it power on,
Use the command button to turn to SETUP,
press and hold simultaneously the command button AND the Ramp button for a few seconds.
Your machine will beep a couple of times and you.re in.
You can then rummage around and look at all the settings.
When you are done looking, turn to Exit and press the command button and you'll be back in normal mode.
Re-insert the SD card and you'll be back to normal.

IF THEY HAVE PUT YOUR SETTINGS ON THE CARD, the machine will revert to their settings,
If not, then anything you changed will remain.

Since you are using SleepyHead for reporting, all the waveform data has already been loaded into your computer files.
If you start using Encore, the breathing waveform data from previous days will not be available to upload anyway.
So, when and if you want to take complete control and eliminate any chance of being locked out, just reformat the SD card and reinsert it into your machine. The PR System One will re-write all the detail records to the card but the lock-out stuff will be gone as well as the older waveform files.

I think all Sleep Drs act like that . I've had 2 different ones and they are both that way. Now that I have educated myself they don't like to converse much during appts. Now my appts are every. 6 months after 1 1/2 years .
Glad about that. No more pats on the head!

Thank you so much for the info, JD! I checked last night and they did not lock it. I am not happy. My AHI was almost 5.0 and it looks like I was battling apneas most of the night. I have been feeling tired still......but worse this morning. I will give it some time but I think both the max pressure and minimum are wrong. Plus they said the min was 9.5 and it is actually 9.0........sheshhh...........
