Repairs on CPAP.com orders...

Post by millich » Tue Apr 01, 2014 10:17 am

When you order an APAP from CPAP.com, what happens if you need repairs? I guess most repairs the first couple of years would be warranty issues which I believe they will deal with…(?). What if if repairs are needed beyond that time?

I"ll get a new prescription tomorrow and I'm debating whether to purchase from a DME or from CPAP.com. Their prices sure are better.

Thanks!

My guess is after the warranty period you will be on your own with any DME. If they do have a repair facility they might charge the price of a new machine from our sponsor.
There is an independent repair facility in the Midwest, but they quoted $300+ to repair an S9 Autoset.

You could call cpap.com, and ask.
The only way I could get the five year warranty on my back-up was ordering through them.
The local DME spouted some blather about "the additional 3 years was by a third party"--(a lie, I'm sure)

I had to send my Devilbiss IntelliPap back because it occasionally was not talking with the SmartLink module. I simply called Cpap.com, they confirmed that both pieces were still under warranty, gave me a return code and asked me send both units in. They handled everything with the manufacturer from that point. In this case, I received two new units about a week later. My suspicion is that the manufacturer didn't even bother with testing them, they just authorized Cpap.com to send replacements, which was fine with me.
