I wonder why my apnea symptoms of headache and just feeling like I didn't get good rest are worse since I started Bi- Pap? Maybe should go back to straight cpap. I have such high pressures though
Dr appt next week . Guess Ill find out then. Think I feel another sleep study coming on!

Re: Symptoms are worse
Oh probably breathing instability issues. New CPAP machines especially ones that dance the pressure a lot (and BiPap is constantly doing so) are a bit harder for the system to get used to much of the time.Sclark08 wrote:I wonder why my apnea symptoms of headache and just feeling like I didn't get good rest are worse since I started Bi- Pap? The probablem may go away as your system learns to adapt. Perhaps daytime time with the machine would help (reading, music, light distraction, and a bit of awake time on the bed learning to breath "as if you were asleep in bed" (quietly, gently).
In the mean time take some nice walks, eat some good food, and get healthy in as many other ways as possible. CPAP is a maybe. Doing the right thing is always likely to help.

Sounds like good advice. Thanks a lot

Re: Symptoms are worse
Sclark08,
Have you looked at the data recorded by the BiPAP?
And while most people find the IPAP/EPAP difference makes it more comfortable and more natural to breathe with, not everybody does.
One quick idea: Check to see if Bi-Flex is turned ON or OFF. Try experimenting with the Bi-Flex setting. Some people love Bi-Flex and others hate it. So if it's ON, try turning it OFF. If it's OFF, try turning it ON.

Re: Symptoms are worse
My brother is a musician and uses BiPAP. He tells me the constant “tone changes” as the machine adjusts pressure each breath drive him crazy. He has taken to running a couple of fans in the room to mask the noise and tells me it helps.
