Need Help with APAP

Post by lava » Tue Jun 27, 2006 7:08 pm

First I would like to thank everyone. From reading all of your posts I decided to replace my eleven year old REMstar Choice (28,700 hours) with a REMstar Auto. Now I need some direct help please.

My prescribed setting is 14 cm but the company left my new machine at the default 4 - 20 cm. I know I read on a thread somewhere that the range should be tightened up around the prescribed setting. Would someone give me some advice on what the range should be?

Thanks in advance.

Range

The conventioanl wisdom seems to be titrated pressure +/- 3 cmH2O. But, that's ONLY the conventional wisdom. You'd be best consulting with your sleep doc regarding this.

lava,

Why don't you leave it at 14 for a week or two and see how you do on fixed pressure. I see you have Encore Pro listed in your profile, so you'll be able to monitor your statistics. Then, after that period, you can move it up or down or try a range. I'm sure your old machine didn't have that capability, so if the pressure on your old machine was 14, you can see how you were doing on that setting.

Best wishes,

Den
