Nuance Pro accesories?

Post by kona0197 » Fri Feb 07, 2014 6:11 pm

So are there any accessories for this mask like a cloth cover so the blue gel will not irritate my skin like it has been doing?

I believe that if you downgrade to the Nuance it comes with fabric headgear.

Where is the irritation...nostrils or cheek area?

Cheek area. The gel sticks to my skin.

Cheek area...I have a couple of ideas...let me go dig out my Nuance Pro and some strap covers to see what might work.
Will get back with you in a bit.

The Swift FX side strap covers that ResMed supplies with the Swift FX...barely will close around the that gel strap.
If you have a Swift FX nasal pillow then you should have a pair of those side strap covers...they will be a bit long but will work as they are or could be shortened.

The Swift FX fleece side strap covers from Padacheek's offer much more padding...that's why I had them because the little covers from ResMed were too thin.
http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_SwiftFX.html
you have to slide the strap out of the slot and then slide the cover down over the silicone...and they are too long but can be shortened.
you might contact Karen at Padacheek's and ask her if she has one that would fit better...

If you were handy with some scraps of fleece you could make your own...I am not inclined to be handy and that's why I had the Swift FX side strap covers that I bought from Padacheek...I used those covers for 2 years until I changed primary masks and would still use them if I should used the Swift FX for any reason. Well worth the money since I don't want to try to make my own but they would be easy to make.

Pugsy - I don't have any of the masks that you are talking about.

I have considered using one of those little headbands that are made of knitted fabric and cut it where the seam is;
What's left is a 10" or so little knit tube (like a very long Barbie legging) If you find the right width headband, it could work.
Edit: I have just the headband--Belle hair wraps, from Dollar Tree. (4/$1)
The only seam is at center back and the hair band is a knitted tube of nylon.
Half may be a bit long--it depends on how much of the fabric strap you want to cover as well.

If you go to the Padacheek link that I posted you can see the strap cover.
It will work on the Nuance Pro...it's just a little too long but easily shortened.
Or you can look at it and get an idea on just making your own.
All you need is a scrap of fleece...wrap it around the strap and tape it on the outside so it holds together...unless you can sew.

Just because something was made for one mask doesn't mean we can't use it on another mask.
