Polycarbonate use in CPAP Reservoirs
Has anyone questioned the use of the industry that manufactures CPAPS about using polycarbonate for the reservoirs in the humidifiers of CPAPs? In general the likelihood of the plastic leeching BPA is higher when the plastic is heated and we are breathing the water vapor directly into our lungs. Has anyone found any research on this? Most people stay away from polycarbonate drinking bottles and industry has responded to the concerns of consumers. What do people think?

Do a search in the search box above, this has been discussed ''many'' times... so do some reading and you will find some answers.

With regard to the CPAP humidifier tanks.......it's a bunch of nonsense. Much ado about nothing.Sleepyheads11 wrote:Has anyone questioned the use of the industry that manufactures CPAPS about using polycarbonate for the reservoirs in the humidifiers of CPAPs? Re: Polycarbonate use in CPAP Reservoirs
All heated reservoirs have metal panels, which are the only part exposed to direct heat.
If one is still concerned about chemical exposure, the tank could be cleaned and refilled
with new distilled water every day. --that is, if you are really all that "Monk-ish" about it.
If these concerns ever prevent you from using your machine, you need more help than we can offer here.
Ask your physician for a referral to a psychiatrist.
