PLEASE Stop Resurrecting multi-year old posts!

Post by Julie » Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:21 pm

If you Really want to comment or question something raised long ago, start a new thread. Please. Because if not, you put us in the position of having to look back at all the old stuff (if you want us to make any sense of things, poll or not), and it's tiresome and takes space and energy, of which we don't have much. PLEASE look at the orig. posting date and try to act accordingly. Thanks a lot!

Removing old posts from view is easily accomplished by this workaround:
Sludge wrote:In an attempt to get two birds stoned (bringing an "old" thread to the top, and an option not to view them):

First, don't "Reply" to them. While voting in a poll and replying to the thread will both bring a thread to the top, the thread behaves differently.

Second, change the settings in User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Display Options > Display Topics from Previous Days > (select) One Day (or 7 will probably work, depending on when the last response was).

Alternatively, the Display can be changed for each session (sign-on) by making these changes at the bottom of the first page.
