Climate line and HI question
I have a question about the climate line hose from Resmed and also about H I reporting with the resmed S9 auto set. My first question is can you soak the climate line hose underwater, submerging it fully. My second question is my s8 use to report HI I do not see it in the s9 but I do see AI CI and AHI. Will I have to load the data card to see the HI ? Thanks for your help !!!

Re: Climate line and HI question
You will need to use the software to see the breakdown of the AI (which includes HI).
I personally would not soak the Climateline hose. A quick wash and rinse every now and then maybe but I wouldn't be soaking all those electronic sensors and wires.
Edit: That's my personal opinion...if you all want to soak the hose then go for it but I just don't see the need.
Heck, I don't even see the need to wash it once a week.... Sure don't see the need to soak it...nothing in it that hot soapy water wouldn't take care of anyway...
BUT...all of you you want to soak it...go ahead....
That's why I said "I personally".....

Re: Climate line and HI question
I have been using the same ResMed ClimateLine hose for over 2 years now & I completely submerge it in soapy water for a couple of hours once a week.
I then connect 1 end at a time to my bathtub faucet (perfect connection) & turn both faucets on to totally rinse out the soapy water (10 seconds on each end). My water pressure is way above normal, so a pretty good force of water goes through that hose. I paid extra for that extra water pressure when I built my house 23 years ago.
Have never had any negative consequences from doing that.
I am pretty sure that even ResMed says that the ClimateLine hose CAN be submerged, but can't put my hands on any direct links at the moment.
Isn't it only the Respironics hose that canNOT be submerged?

Re: Climate line and HI question
The ResMed website seems to be down at the moment.
At least, "I" canNOT connect to it.
But, at this link, cpap.com says that the ClimateLine hose CAN be submerged.

•The hose can be submerged in water but needs to be completely dry before connecting to a machine.

Re: Climate line and HI question
I've soaked mine in soapy water in the tub several times over the past 15 months. No issues at all

Re: Climate line and HI question
I soak mine too, no problems at all. If it was affected by water I would be concerned about those humidity levels moving through the hose all night too.

Re: Climate line and HI question
Here is the ResMed Disinfection Guide for the various hoses.
These are the "extremes" that Hospitals etc. can use on these hoses that may be used by more than 1 patient.
SUBMERGING your ClimateLine is kids play compared to what they CAN do to a ClimateLine hose.
