It's a long road...

Post by ThisIsMyUserName » Thu Jan 09, 2014 10:16 am

Six months into CPAP use. I never sleep a second without the machine, but man the road to recovery is long. I slowly got better for the first four months, until I was feeling pretty darn great. Then I switched masks, and, despite looking great on the data, I felt increasingly crappy for a month until I was feeling pretty terrible again (I still don't know why). Switched back to the original mask, which I don't love, but I am feeling better and better; still not nearly back to where I was, but feeling decent. It just requires so... much... patience...

What type mask made you feel better and what type didn't?

I posted a bunch on this elsewhere, but basically I started with a Pilairo nose pillow, then switched to an Eson nasal mask, then back to the Pilairo. Both fit well, no leaks, reasonably comfortable, and great looking Sleepyhead data (low AHI, etc.). I prefer the Eson because it doesn't stick up my nose and the Pilairo requires regular lanolin application to avoid nasal irritation, but for completely unexplained reasons, I was exhausted on the Eson.
