changed my erp setting.

Post by neallo » Wed Jan 01, 2014 10:49 am

So I turned my erp setting from 2 to 3 last night.
Well I had machine on for 8.5 hrs, first time it was on that long in 12 I've had the machine. Noticed that at one point mask slid quite a bit, but didn't hear the normal loud leak sound. I thought machine was off, but when I put mask back on it was working fine back to sleep I went. I woke up sleepy and stiff and sore. Should I turn it back down our leave it where it is.

I have mild plmd 8.1 movements per hr. How would these few movements affect my sleep and do they? What is the treatment for plmd? Should I make a point to discuss this with my sleep doctor at my follow up at end of month?

You may want to check the data on the machine or in SleepyHead. Any change in the AHI with the new EPR setting?

Since you slept longer than you usually do with the mask, I'd leave the EPR setting at 3 for a few days to let your body adjust to it. You may have woken up sleepy and stiff simply because you slept longer than normal, even though that sounds counter intuitive.

As for PLMD: There are a number of drugs that can be used to treat PLMD. There's a poster here named kteague who has a lot of experience dealing with really severe PLMD. You might want to PM her about what's used for treating PLMD.

Haven't looked at sleepyhead as of yet, but machine said it was at my personal best of .4

I tried to pm her, but for some reason I can't. Might be fact I am on a phone or I just don't know how. The message is saved but I can't figure out how to get the message from draft to send it.

When I got a email from my dme, she suggested I turn up my humidity, but it was already at 86°. So I was finally reading my manuals for my machine and it did I could change the humidity manually, which I did changed it from 3 to 4 skipping 3.5. I am trying to help my dry mouth.
Think this will help? What do these numbers mean? Do I need to go higher? Should I be concerned with rainout? I like breathing cool air can I turn my temperature down to say 76°?

I have my humidifier set At 4.5 as I live in Arizona. It is personal preference though as to how high you want that setting to feel comfortable.

Hope this helps,

Yes it does help. I don't know how humid Arizona is, but I leave in the humid east coast. But it is winter a dryer time of year. Oh my I am getting so confused. I guess I will try the higher number. For atleast tonight see if I drown from the rainout.
