No data on machine...help undertstanding Cpap
No data on machine...help undertstanding Cpap
Ive had a Cpap machine since July and have felt much better using it
the fatigue went away i had more energy and no brain fog..felt great
two months ago started to feel fatigued tired and depressed again..
turns out my mask leaked and i got an upgrade from a joyce vented mask to a mirage quattro
couldnt get used to the quattro was then given a quattro fx
good fit and i am finally falling asleep with the mask on...
i seemed to walk up 4-5 times a night..usually when im dreaming..and the dreams seemed to be more intense and im less anxious when i wake up
also wake up with no headache and leg pains anymore...this has been going on for only the last three nights..
but i still feel tired and really fatigued...i have read if im waking up with no headaches then mabye the machine is working
and i just need more time to get over my sleep debt..i cant read any data as my machine can only be read by a technision
also dont have any signs of leaks..but cant be 100 sure as no data..i can only test the fitting on the highest pressure before i sleep..this function i have on the machine...
i have an apap machine pressure 6-16..
has anyone experienced anything like this before...does the intenceness of your dreams indictate reaching REM state and is it normal to wake up after every dream?
and does the brain fog..last for long or when the therapy helps will it go away?
is the heachaches and leg pains going away a sign of a better sleep...i have to wait for a sleep tests in 2 months..i live in germany and the sleep doctors are not soo helpful...2 months is soo long and im trying to make the cpap work..
my machine can only be read by a specialist and they keep telling me to wait for the sleep study..
having problems in my marraige..because im grumpy tired not much fun to be around and not working at the moment...
any advice apprecieted ...need to get pass this problem

What type of machine do you have? It may be that there's some way to see at least some data, even if it's hidden. ETA: Never mind - I just saw it listed in your profile - it was just under "Additional comments", which threw me off for a minute. I'm not familiar with that machine - anyone else?
That's a pretty wide pressure variance - I wonder if you're having more events in REM (which is pretty normal) and so the pressure is spiking, and that's what wakes you up?

its a Weinmann somnibalance e..ive read through the manual...and tried everything...the machine just brings up an error
message..
when i sleep without the machine im not dreaming so vivid and i wake up with pains in my leg and a big headache
thats why i was wondering if vivid dreams mean im actually getting some quality sleep

Hmmm...I found this thread that seems to indicate that there is a way to make that machine record data:

Might be worth reviewing.
What's the error message you're seeing?

Vivid dreams seem to indicate you're at least likely getting to REM sleep, which is a good thing. So it sounds like there's some improvement, but clearly not enough. Luckily the therapy can be tweaked to work better for you - it's just a matter of how.

Re: No data on machine...help undertstanding Cpap
there is a newer version of my machine with a sd card reader...mine can only be attached to a technisions laptop
i think they have disabled the functions on my machine as i have tried before to bring up the any readings the machine gives...

Ah...gotcha. It seems to require a RS485 to USB adapter (I've never even heard of such a thing!). Well, I think the first option is definitely push to get in earlier, and ideally get upgraded to a machine that lets you monitor the data. But that may be an option for a fantasy dream world.
If that's just absolutely not happening, and you're comfortable (and determined) to try and tackle some of this yourself, I think you'd need to start by getting that cable and the WEINMANNsupport software. Their website has a package with both, listed here: https://www.weinmann.de/fileadmin/wm_de ... 129875.pdf - item WM 93305. But whether they'd make that available to consumers, and for what price, I don't know. It's a place to start, though...

Also, there are some things you can experiment with that are completely under your control - this is a good idea to look at regardless of whether or not you can get into the machine to monitor. I'm sure some more experienced members can chime in with more, but I know position is a big one. Do you sleep on your back, or your side, or your stomach, or a mix? Can you try sleeping in a different position and take note of whether you feel better or worse in the morning following? Also, are you feeling dry, or congested, or anything else that might interfere with your breathing?

have you heard of over dreaming
i read that when a person is depressed they can over dream..causing them to be exhausted also

No, I'm not familiar with it. I'm pretty new to all this, though, so hopefully someone more experienced can chime in?
