accessed my clinical menu

Post by neallo » Mon Dec 30, 2013 6:26 pm

Found that I have 49 leaks,/min. But I have .08 ahi with .02 centrals. Is my leaks pushing my ahi over to the low side. What do I do about these leaks.

My dme emailed me and checked up on how I was doing. I told her about my mask issues, she offered to order me a chin strap. Should I take this strap?
I also got a email from a supply company saying they have my information and the requirements for the supplies I need which I will get an email or phone call when I am sure for New supplies. And u should get these within s business week.

Ok what I am asking here is.

1. After my leaks way to high?
2. Now do I fix these leaks with my ffm and goatee?
3. Should I take the chin strap?
4. Should I accept the preordered supplies?.
5. Are my Apneas affected by the leaks?

I have had my machine for 10 days and have yet to sleep through the night due to the Leaks.

Last night I took the mask off and turned machine offs and didn't know it. When I realized it was off i realized I snatched one of the head straps off. Slept ok other than that, I guess. I need this to work because my fiance odds finally sleeping

Hi - Well, if your AHI is really 0.8 I don't know if I'd worry about the leaks - that's a very good number. Do you feel rested - it's as important as the numbers.

"...my fiance odds finally sleeping" - I have no idea what you were trying to say here, but will guess you meant your fiance is finally sleeping(?).

Taking your mask off and not remembering that is pretty common for newbies, but do you feel comfortable in the mask before sleeping? If you're wearing it too tight, loosen it a bit, because too tight can actually create very small leaks all around, which doesn't help leaks of course.

Yea that is exactly what I meant. we've been together for six and a half yrs and my snoring and apnea events have kept her awake.
I don't know if my apnea is being covered up by the leaks out not and no I don't feel rested. I have no idea what I Ann doing nor how to sleep been so long since I have slept I don't even know if I can anymore. But I must persist with the cpap for her sake at least, after all she is the one I want to spend my life with.

Have you tried a mask liner like Pad-a-Cheek? They're very good for leaks...

Yes, yes yes. Get a liner. Instead of startling all-or-nothing PBHBHBHBHBBHBHTTs, I tend to get very slight inaudible leaks (not large leaks) with the occasional melodic "HONNK" when it's really leaking.

It's also much more comfortable than silicone stuck to your face.
